HAS LESS FLAVOR THAN THE MULATO OR ANCHO CHILE BUT BRINGS A SLIGHT SMOKY FLAVOR TO THE DISH BEING PREPARED.

USED TO PREPARE COOKED AND RAW SALSAS AND OFTEN INDICATED IN RECIPES FOR PORK.

Very Rarely used bY itself and often seen in "Rajas" or sauteed or stewed strips of peppers.
