An explanation of some of the benefits of joining.

We have tried to permit the public (non registered users) access to a reasonable amount of content and interactivity. The following describes in detail the user restrictions in place on many of this web site's functions. These user restricitons are security based, that is, a first defense against malicious internet users.

The Marscafe Content Menu

"The Content Menu" is the core of this web site. It is where you can access reference documents, take online self-grading culinary tests, download recipes, post a resume or web-publish recipes and much more. Almost all of the links are equally available to the public (guests) and registered Marscafe users.

The Forum

"The forum" is where members interact with other food professionals; respond to other postings, start their own topics and/or polls and upload documents and images for others to download. Posting or replying of topics is only available to registered users, as is starting a poll and poll voting. For all the details make sure to use the F1 Key, click on the Help button on the navigation bar or Click Here to open the "Sliding Panel."

Downloads

"Downloads" are available to both the public (non registered Marscafe Community users) and registered Marscafe Community users. However, many Download files, templates and articles are reserved for registered Marscafe Community users only and remain invisible to the public.

Blogs

"Blogs" refer to a shared on-line journal where users can post diary entries about their personal experiences and hobbies - "postings on a blog are usually in chronological order". Click on the "Blog Manager" to start yours. Blog entries and replies are available only to registered Marscafe Community users.

Chat

"Chat" allows the user to participate fully in online real time communication activities (like e-mail in real time). We use the program "AChat" (an AJAX powered webchat) because it is fast and supports BB codes and emoticons. Available only to registered Marscafe Community users.

Arcade

" Arcade" allows registered Marscafe Community users to play and enjoy "Arcade Games". These games are a type of game genre that is a fast-paced PC action game, requiring hand-eye coordination skill to play. Pinball games for the PC would be considered an arcade game. Scores and comments of registered Marscafe Community users are kept and published.

Calendar

"The Calendar" permits the display current and upcoming calendar events on the Board index. ... Events can span multiple days. If your organization/business/web site/publication is interested in promoting an upcoming event please use the "Contact Us" link on the left side.

Banner Advertising

"Banner Ads" notify consumers of your product or service and present reasons why the consumer should choose it. We offer a number of placement options at prices affordable to even the smallest of organizations. Use the "Contact Us" link on the left side to receive more details.

Image Gallery

"Gallery" refers to the photo "album" system that allows registered Marscafe Community members (users) to upload pictures to the gallery and comment on them.

Links

"Links" This is where registered Marscafe Community members can post web Links and also Rate other Links that have been posted.

User Control Panel

"USER CP" is a very user friendly page for registered members to change their settings with ease. It answers common questions like: "how do I change my profile?" - "how do I change my username?". Access this super User Control Panel in the main navigation bar by clicking on USER CP.Access to this CP is obviously restricted for registered Marscafe Community members (users).

Private Messages

"Private Messages" are the forum's own personal message system, and is available to registered members in most forums. Once again, please be sure to click on the Help button on the navigation bar for all the details. Available only to registered Marscafe Community users.

Buddy Box

"The Buddy Box" is a shortcut that shows you which of this forum's users that you have designated as a "Buddy" are currently online. Access to this function is again, restricted for registered Marscafe Community members. Read The Details

The Marketplace

" The Marketplace" is located in the forum area and consists of two boards or sections.
1. Trades & Sales (viewable and usable only by registered Marscafe Community members)::

2. Business Classifieds (viewable by all users, posting restricted)::
A place for businesses, organizations, entrepreneurs and individuals to post advertisements regarding the goods and services they have to offer.

Trader Feedback System

"The Trader Feedback System" permits you to leave feedback on Buyers / Sellers / and Traders. This is an eBay like feedback system and you can post positive / negative / netural feedback and post comments about your transaction. Click a persons name to view the profile of the person and you will see the feedback section at the bottom. More details can be found in the Marketplace Forum Board.
